Ask your employer to carry out the annual settlement of income-tax advances paid and to issue a Confirmation of tax paid for 2023. From that confirmation you can see the date the tax was paid and calculate 2% of the tax you paid (the amount must be at least €3, and you should have no tax arrears). If in 2023 you volunteered for at least 40 hours and obtain a confirmation from the organisation or organisations you volunteered for in 2023, you may assign 3% of the tax you paid.

Fill in the Declaration on assigning 2% of tax, stating your name, personal identification number, address, the amount equal to 2% (3%) of the tax paid, and the details of the civic association Za našu vodu. In the year box write 2023. If you want to tell us that you assigned your 2% to us, tick the relevant consent on the form for your data to be sent.

Deliver the completed declaration together with the Confirmation of tax paid (in person or by post) by 2 May 2023 to the tax office for your permanent address. If you assign 3% of tax, the declaration and the Confirmation of tax paid must also be accompanied by a confirmation that you completed at least 40 hours of voluntary work.

In your tax return, fill in the details for the 2% of tax (the details of the civic association Za našu vodu and the amount equal to 2% of the tax). You may assign 2% of the tax if the amount is at least €3 and you have no tax arrears. Apart from the tax return, you do not file any other form to assign 2% of the tax. You do not need the account number of the civic association Za našu vodu, and you do not enter it anywhere, because the tax office transfers the money to the association’s account, not you. You pay the whole tax to the tax office, and the tax office then transfers your 2% to the account of the civic association Za našu vodu within 90 days.
